brandcard

After many months of work, we have finally launch the shop.savafashion.com beta site!  It was in reality, the first part of the concept that was developed, even before the store or garment center so it feels like such an accomplishment that it is live! You can now buy SA VA from anywhere! Over the next few weeks you will see the balance of our in-store product hit the site and the growth of our ‘interact now‘ online fashion community where you can get fashion help fast, show us how you wore (it) your SA VA purchase, tell us what you’re looking for an can’t find and find volunteer opportunities with our partner organizations.

Even our sale items are on line and are up to 75% off!!!!   Come visit, we hope to see you soon!

another first: black friday at SA VA

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Who knows what to expect?!?  But we are having fun getting ready and putting together some great sales and special offers for Friday and the whole weekend!!

We installed the new holiday window display today at SA VA, like they all are it is a work in progress, but what I will tell you is that my obsession with pinwheels is finally coming to life!  ….and it does have some side effects, the biggest being the dusting of glitter that seems to have covered just about everything in the garment center, design studio and store!!!! but come check it out!

The pop-up store has been fun – malls are so crazy, especially this one because it is in the business district.  Lunch time is like a mad house and the weekends are desolate.  I can’t wait to see what holiday shopping brings!

Otherwise, it is business as usual, trying to get clothes made faster and more of them and for more people!!!!  Lots to do, but the Garment Center is really becoming efficient!

Come see us this weekend!

oh, and I can’t forget, Ladies Who Launch Philadelphia did a very nice feature on use this month.  Check it out:logo-big

Pop! SA VA’s holiday pop-up store opens!

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Surprise! We just opened up a holiday pop-up store at Liberty Place today!  Not your typical pop-up as we are occupying a full retail location and not a kiosk.  But it

was pretty spontaneous!  10 days from idea to being open.  From my days in the real estate business, Ron Blum (co-worker and ever supportive friend) had been showing space in the mall when they mentioned they wanted to fill the old Crabtree and Evelyn space.  He recommended us and immediately brought Karen Pallard, the property manager over to see our store.  She loved it and they asked me to open there.  Saw the space and signed a lease in a day, left for New Orleans for the weekend.  Flash forward one week (a week filled with printing of banners, flags, and signage and of crazy garment, accessory and housewares manufacturing) and we opened today!!!  Had a great first day, lots of fun, the mall is a totally different world and different customer so it will be a fun holiday season!

We decided we would have a lot of true SA VA looks at the store, but add in an even larger amount of accessories and unique gift type items at the store, even stocking stuffers like flower pins made from fabric snipping from the garment center.  We are even dabbling a bit in SA VA housewares including throw pillows with our signature print in red, homemade quilts (made out of scrap fabric from the garment center), custom print table runners and napkins, hand-blown glass candle votives made exclusively for us… and you get the picture.DSC04462

We also decided that we would have a Van Aken custom shirt kiosk in the store (one of my other brands for those of you who only know SA VA).  There are a ton of guys in suits over there and already its been turning heads!  For the holidays we will be doing shirt fittings right in the store.

The pop up store is located on the lower level, on the 17th street side. Come visit!

Next, the webstore – yes, finally the webstore.  We want it to be perfect, so it is taking a little longer, but you will love it!!
