we were merchandising until 10pm and the guys were finishing construction details until the 11th hour but we made it and today is going great!

it was so great to see everyone from the Garment Center see everything merchandised for the first time!!

well,,,, its true, we are opening this weekend – Daily Candy said so     Check it out:  SA VA on DAILY CANDY and more later as soon as we have a minute to breathe!!!!  fyi – it is our first day of filming today, the day before opening, channel 6 and the City Paper are coming…. it is crazy!!!!!

I can’t believe that we are almost there!  We have been working on this project for so long.  In fact, I have been planning for this project for more than two years when I was about to open a store in Manhattan.   I am incredibly happy that I took the time to step back and do it this way.  Moving the garment center here has been the best decision and the way things have worked out as a whole have been better than I could have imagined.

You may remember one of my early blogs were I talked about the inspiration of the SA VA store.  I wanted a more sleek version of a Moroccan patio I

had seen.  It felt warm, welcoming and calming.  The idea was that it should help define what we do but be minimal enough to

allow the clothes to speak.   And though we have done a lot in the last two days since I took this,  I thought I would share a sneak preview of what the store, opening in just 5 days, is looking like!

A few more lights under the side wall were added today, as well as the front window lights and we moved in some fixtures.  My dad put the white cork on the wall upstairs in the design studio for our vision boards.  Paint touch-ups are almost done.  Fixtures tomorrow, signs on Thursday  and moving in the merchandise.  Now if only I can work out all of the tweaks on the computers and life will be good!!!

Now to plan some parties!
